Invent Your Own Breed

Your job is to create a dog breed of your own. You will need to do at least three things when creating your breed. (Click on any green words to see the definition.)

1. Describe how your dog will look. Write down the characteristics your pet will have. Include all of the following:

• Give your breed a name.

• Name your pet.

• How tall will your pet be?

• How much will it weigh?

• Tell us the color of its eyes, coat, nose etc.

• What kind of fur will it have? (long, short, fluffy)

2. Make a picture of your pet, use crayons, paints, a computer drawing program, or anything you choose, to show us just how you'd like it to look. Make sure it fits the characteristics you've listed in your writing.

3. Have your teacher or parent help you send us your writing and the picture of your breed. We will post as many breeds as we can. Send it to us by email or mail it to:
