Becoming Joe DiMaggio
by
Maria Testa
Grades 5-6

Becoming Joe Dimaggio is a wonderful book about a little boy and his grandfather. But does his grandfather know that his grandson would soon become a famous doctor ?You will find out when you read this book.

Maria Tester's Becoming Joe DiMaggio is a touching story about a teenager and his grandfather, who are Joe DiMaggio's biggest fans. The genre of this book is nonfiction, so there is no conflict. The illustrations of this book are sketched by the illustrator Scott Hunt. The setting is mastery at the house of Papa-Angelo in the summer of 1936. I would give this book at 10 on a scale from 1-10 because of the events and touching moments. My opinion of this book is a great one because of the plot and other important events. I recommend this book for 9-12 year olds because of the advanced vocabulary and moments that are hard to understand.
