I think the book The
World According to Humphrey is so cool because I have a hamster.
It should get 5 stars.
We love it, too!

This story is about a hamster named Humphrey.
Humphrey’s owner was a second grade teacher. When his owner left he was given to the new
teacher. Unfortunately, Humphrey thought
that this new teacher was mean. He meets
a new friend, the school janitor. The
janitor is lonely, and Humphrey has a wild idea to help him, but that’s
not all that he does. On weekends he
goes to one of the students’ homes.
One student never answered questions in class because she spoke a
different language. She was afraid that
everyone would laugh at her accent. Humphrey
comes up with a strange plan to get her to talk. He does this with the other students who take
him home for the weekend. You should
read this because you might think of ways to help your friends.

The World According to
Humphrey is a hilarious book by Betty G. Birney. This hilarious and adorable book takes place
at school and at the students’ of room 2B’s homes. Humphrey is the class pet in Room 2B and all
of the students love him. One day Miss Mac
(the teacher who bought Humphrey) says that she is leaving. As soon as Humphrey sees the new teacher he
thinks that she is a horribly mean witch.
There is one big problem: the new
teacher can’t take home Humphrey on the weekends. The teacher and some of the mothers agree
that the children can take turns taking him home on the weekends. Humphrey has very, very crazy experiences at
all of the children’s houses.
Humphrey meets the school janitor who comes in every night to clean the
classroom. The janitor has a
problem: all of his friends work in the
afternoon and he works at night. The
janitor has another problem: he wants a
girlfriend but he doesn’t have time to go meet someone. Can Humphrey help him? Find out in the World According to Humphrey.
