Missy Violet and Me

by

Barbara Hathaway
Grades 5-6

Viney a young girl just got asked to deliver babies by a midwife. In the being of the story Viney didn’t know anything about delivering   babies. When she delivered her first baby she didn’t know what to do. So at the end of the story she knew a little bit more about babies.  I think that this story   was really good because   I didn’t know most of the stuff that it talks about.

In the book Missy Violet & Me, a girl named Viney has to help Missy Violet deliver babies because her mother had to pay the fee for the other seven babies Viney’s mother had. Viney spends the summer with Missy Violet and she learns about types of plants and what they are good for. Then Viney has to help deliver a baby with Missy Violet. This book is a great book but I would only recommend that people in grade 5 and up read this book. If you are in fifth grade or another grade over fifth you should read this historical fiction book.
