Straw into Gold
by
Gary Schmidt
Grades 5-6

STRAW INTO GOLD is full of suspense.  I would recommend it to anyone who likes excitement.  The book is full of sadness, happiness and suspense.  I like how it pulls you out of your seat and drags you on and on.  I don't really like fairy tale books, but I like this one.  I could see pictures in my head from all of the detail--like I was watching a movie.

STRAW INTO GOLD is a great book.  I highly recommend it.  It is a great book for any person who likes fantasy.  It is an interesting take on the fairy tale, RUMPELSTILTSKIN.

I think that STRAW INTO GOLD was close to the best book I've ever read because it is a very adventurous book and much, much more.Michael Woodard, Grade 5,
