On Thursday June 13th seventh grade students on the Lynx Team at Wickford Middle School participated in a fundraising activity called Miles for Manatees. The students obtained pledges and all of the money raised will be sent to Mote Marine Laboratories in Sarasota Florida to support Manatee research. The students walked to the town beach and spent approximately an hour in a beach clean up. The activity not only raised money for a worthy cause, but contributed to an appreciation of our own coastal environment.
