Dr. Beverly Ferrucci, President
Association of Teachers of Mathematics in New England
An internationally known educator and author, Dr. Ferrucci is a professor of mathematics at Keene State College, NH. Her research interests include diverse topics such as mathematical pedagogy, algebraic reasoning, mathematical functions, mathematical modeling, information technology, the integration of cross-cultural perspectives and ethnomathematics, the cultural anthropology of mathematics and mathematics education. She is the current editor of the New England Mathematics Journal.

“Relating Algebraic Structures to Teaching Secondary School Math”
5:15pm: Dinner at the Faculty Center
Dr. Fey is a nationally renowned mathematics educator and author. His talk will discuss a new approach to the content and teaching of upper division college algebra classes in order to make them more useful for teaching algebra in secondary schools and describe the results of classroom experience.
The lecture series was established by the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science to memorialize Dr. Arthur F. Smith who passed away in 2003 after serving for 38 years as a mentor and advisor to so many math education students at the College.
The lecture and reception, funded by the College Lectures Committee and the Arthur F. Smith Fund, are open to the public without charge - everyone is cordially invited.
The chicken buffet dinner (with salad, vegetable, rice, coffee and dessert) is $18. To register for the dinner, please use the form below.
