RIMTA is a professional organization for people interested in mathematics education in Rhode Island. RIMTA traditionally holds two meetings each year, fall and spring, which feature talks and workshops by noted national and regional speakers, and local experts. Members can attend RIMTA meetings at a non-profit fee. The RIMTA Newsletter is published three times each year electronically. Members become members of ATMNE, Association of Teachers of Mathematics in New England, automatically, and receive the ATMNE Newsletter and Journal, as well as invitations to conferences throughout the region. RIMTA wants to… ¨ Promote an active interest in K-16 mathematics and its applications. ¨ Provide the opportunity for the exchange of ideas about teaching mathematics ¨ Further cooperative study between elementary, secondary, and college educators ¨ Work for the improvement of mathematics instruction at all levels. School Membership For the price of an individual membership of $20.00, a school can enjoy RIMTA membership as a group. One Journal and one Newsletter will go to member schools, and one teacher from each school can attend RIMTA workshops and meetings at the non-profit membership fee.
