RINET recently hosted the First Annual Rhode Island Sakai Conference.
Rhode Island and national participants learned about enhancing teaching and learning with the Open Source Sakai Collaborative Learning Environment (CLE). The Sakai CLE, known in RI as the Rhode Island Electronic Portfolio System (RIEPS), is being used to support Rhode Island’s Proficiency Based Graduation System, to extend classroom reach and provide Professional Development via the collaborative learning tools. RIEPS is also being considered to provide High School Course Credit Retrieval, Virtual Courses, and more.
If you were unable to participate in this exciting and successful conference; presentation, video, and blog links are available on the conference agenda page.
Specifically, see some national discussions about the conference in Michael Korcuska’s 1, 2 and Sean Keesler’s 1, 2 blogs
