9:15 Balancing the Two Faces of ePortfolios – Dr. Helen Barrett. In the IMS ePortfolio Standards you find the concept of two different types of portfolio structures: the Working Portfolio, which some have called the "portfolio as workspace"; and any number of Presentation/Assessment Portfolios (created for different purposes and audiences) which some have called the "portfolio as showcase." In practice, the working portfolio is more of a formative conversation about learning (with feedback); the other is more about a summative presentation of achievements (with evaluation). This keynote will address how to balance both approaches for better student learning and engagement while meeting institutional accountability requirements. For more details, see the following web page: http://electronicportfolios.org/balance/
