Nomination of Vice Chairperson to replace Katie Miller
Bill will notify Board members of vacancy and request nominations for a vote at the next business meeting,
Pricing for Internal WAN Management
A proposal from Mike was distributed. He explained the rationale behind his proposal. After a discussion about eligibility and supported routers, a motion was made to approve. It was approved unanimously. It will be available after some revisions including deleting any references to ‘loans’ and addition of specifications for payment. The program will be explained to the members at the November workshop (see below).
Pricing for Municipal Agencies
A proposal from Sharon was distributed. The proposal specifies a pricing schedule using the schools’ pricing model with the additional expenses of the local line loops and the shared access lines included. The proposal describes the scope of services (same as specified for direct access services to schools). A motion was made to approve and the proposal was approved unanimously with suggested addition of clarification about local line charges for additional buildings connected to a community network.
Strategic Plan
A document specifying listserv owners and members was distributed (see below and if you were at the meeting, replace the distributed document with the one below). The listservs are aligned with the goals defined in the Strategic Plan. The list owners are the first name following the list name. Email addresses of those members who have been identified with a subgroup are included for your convenience. If you are not assigned to a subgroup and would like to be, please email the list owner. The intent is for members to electronically collaborate on the refinement of Goals and the development of Strategies, Objectives and Actions to further the Goals.
A directory on RINET’s web site, http://www.ri.net/PlanningDocs, has been created to provide access to the documents, Planning_Terminology, and Program Goals and Strategies to guide the efforts of the subgroups.
E-rate workshop for
Year 6 Planning
Bill suggested late October or early November as timeframe to hold workshop similar to last year’s E-rate and Networking Strategies event. Information and materials for Year 6 are expected soon. Jim Monti suggested notification about Year 5 486’s.
