Happenings - SIS Special Edition (pdf format) RINET moved the hardware that comprises the
core of its network to the Foundry, a telecommunications carrier
hotel in Providence. This is good news for everyone. The Foundry
is extremely secure and this in turn increases the reliability of
the RINET network. We have excellent partners involved in the project
including staff and volunteers from RINET, URI, OSHEAN, Atrion,
Verizon, Cox, Roger Williams University and Cisco. This team of
technical experts formed a true collaborative effort and managed
a smooth cutover with a bare minimum of downtime. All participants
have gone far beyond the call of duty and the move was successfully
accomplished. |
