Note from RINET on CIPA Compliance

On April 5, 2001, the FCC released the Report and Order (FCC 01-120) and regulations implementing the Children's Internet Protection Act and the Neighborhood Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA and NCIPA) for E-Rate discount participants. Members who use RINET's filtering service announced in an email to the RICOORD-l list on April 27th will meet the "technology measure" requirement that is part of certifying compliance. Members who request to have their schools/district included in the RINET filtering solution will sign a Filtering Agreement that can serve as verification that filtering of their Internet traffic is being implemented by RINET. Please note that the filtering solution is only one of several requirements that have been specified by the FCC Order. Other measures are described in the letter that was sent on June 16th from the SLD. See links below.
