Students in grades K - 5 are taught all major subjects by their grade level teacher.  Students in grades 6 - 8 are taught all major subjects by the subject teacher.

Throughout the school whole group instruction is supplemented by a variety of teaching methods depending upon need, while every effort is made to challenge students with minimal levels of frustration.   Through the use of various teaching techniques, including whole group instruction, small group help, cooperative learning, peer tutoring, partner help, one on one instruction, and modification of class requirements, teachers work to meet the various needs of all students, despite differences in ability or learning styles.  The use of such supplemental resources as teacher created games and materials, purchased workbooks, or internet games and practice sheets also contribute to the variety of teaching techniques employed by the Father John V. Doyle School faculty in their attempt to meet the individual needs of the students in their classrooms.
