Please help your child to stay on track this trimester. It is important that homework is done early before they are too tired to cope.

Meaningful sentence- A meaningful sentence uses the word correctly and tells something about the meaning of the word using words or phrases that help the reader to understand the unknown word.

                                                                       REMINDERS

Please send in a photocopy of your child's Baptismal certificate as soon as possible.

Gym is on Thursday.

***Party invitations should not be sent through school.  I will be glad to provide a class list of names and addresses upon request.

GRADING - Your child's work will be graded with a rubric using the numbers 1-5.

Occasionally you will see some letters on your child's paper.  The following list should help you understand them.  If you have any questions please let me know.

I-  Work was done independently and is usually graded 1-5.

DT-Work was done together lead by the teacher so if your child was following the lesson the answers should be correct.  This is a good indicator as to whether your child is paying attention and staying on task.

CT- This notation means that the work was corrected together by your child in class.  If incorrect answers were not marked wrong
child was probably not paying attention.

X-  A big X drawn through a workbook page means that this page was not assigned and your child was only responsible for the other side of the paper.

*  A  red asterisk is used to draw your child's attention to directions or indicates that I have discussed the work with your child.
