Grade Parent Duties/Guidelines
Grade parents shall meet with the class teachers at the beginning of the academic year. Always remember to request a class list for contacting other parents. Please provide the teacher with YOUR contact information.
Grade parents shall assist the teacher and will be willing to contact other parents to assist when needed. 

Examples of some class activities that may require the assistance of grade parents:

Snowflake Bazaar:

Assist and/or assign other parents to assist in the preparation/ decoration of the ornaments.

Holy Thursday Program:

Assist and/or assign other parents in the set up, decorating, and cleanup.

Teacher Appreciation Day:

Assist and/or assign other parents to cover the classroom so the teacher may attend the luncheon. Usually the grade parents have the students make a small project for the teacher and aide that is presented when the luncheon is over.
As grade parent you are allowed to collect money for the teacher and the teacher's aide gifts at Christmas time, Teacher Appreciation Day, and for the end of the year gift.
All cards are to be signed by all children.
All letters requesting money must be approved by Mrs. Ryan or a member of the administration. Suggested donation of up to $5.00 is acceptable. 
In addition to the activities listed above, certain grades may require additional assistance. 

PLEASE NOTE   as  a grade parent you have volunteered to only ASSIST in the classroom. You are not expected/required to plan your own events.
Kindergarten: Decorate, serve, and clean up after kindergarten celebration.
Grade 2: Assist and/or assign others to assist with decorating and cleaning up after the First Penance Celebration.
Grade 7: Assist and/or assign others to assist with set up, serving, and cleaning up for the Eighth Grade Banquet.
Grade 8: Assist and/or assign others to assist with fundraisers.

Grade parent sign up forms are due back to school no later than Friday, September 4th. You will be notified with a packet sent home with your child if you are chosen as Grade Parent. There will be a mandatory  meeting for Grade Parents only Monday, September 14th at 7:00 pm in Mrs. Maynard's room.
