READING:
Letters of the Month - Oo, and review Kk, Nn,
and Tt. Your child should be able to recognize and
name the letters, know their beginning sound, and be able to match uppercase
to lowercase letters.
High frequency Words: We will be learning the words Said, said and
The, the. Please use the flash cards that are sent home to practice
the letters and words that have been taught in class.
Color words: red, blue, green, yellow, purple, orange, brown,
white

MANUSCRIPT WRITING/FUNDATIONS:
We
will be finish printing color words and will then work on printing
number words.
Please continue to use the flash cards that were sent home as each
letter was introduced to practice letters, keywords, and sounds with
your child. When practicing printing, use the letter formation sheets
that were sent home in the Fundations Orientation Package.
The children are now printing their first and last names using an uppercase
letter only for the first letter. The remaining letters are lowercase.
MATH: This
month we will be working on Chapter 7 "Addition Readiness" and Chapter
8 "Subtraction Readiness." If these are completed before the end
of the month, we will begin Chapter 9, "Money."

Ongoing daily routines
will include working with the calendar, recognizing days of the week and
months of the year, and increasing weather awareness (using out Weather
Frog).
RELIGION:
Practice the Sign of the Cross, the Our Father, the Hail Mary, and the
Guardian Angel prayer with your child at home. We work on these in
class daily.

If your child is having difficulty printing his/her first and last name,
please have them practice at home. Please remember that they should not
be printing nicknames, but their given name.
