Library Policy

What is expected in the Library......

RESPECT...
  • ...the books as part of our school.
    • Everything here is shared not only by your class but also by all the other classes in the school and the teachers.  This adds up to a lot of people who depend on each other to take care of the books.
  • ...those around you
    • by being polite and talking in “inside voices.”
      by following directions.
by keeping hands, feet, and objects to yourself.
by not teasing or using bad language.

    CIRCULATION
    • Books must be brought in to be renewed.  Please remember your books on library day!
    • Every book has a barcode attached that is specific to our school.  Students must pay a $1 fine for any returned book with a barcode that is missing or damaged.
    • Books that are requested by other students should be shared so some may not be able to be renewed.
    • “How many books can I take out?”
Kindergarten and Grade 1: one book per week
Grades 2 & 3: two books per week
Grades 4 & up: three books per week (no more than 2 same subject/author)
    • Overdue Books Policy
Books must be returned if you are to keep your borrowing privilege.
Students must return all books before they will be allowed to take out another!
Any book outstanding by more than one month is expected to be replaced by the same title.
