Mercymount Library, an integral part of the overall program, serves as a resource center for the students and faculty.  Based on the philosophy that Mercymount Country Day School is dedicated to the total education of the child, the mission of the library is to provide appropriate resources and services to enhance the development of each student's intellectual potential and growth.

To attain this goal, the following are the objectives of the library program:

    To provide materials and resources to serve the needs of the school population;
    To nurture individual enjoyment of reading and appreciation of literature;
    To incorporate the library media curriculum into the curricula of other disciplines;
    To teach the procedures and skills for selecting, locating and using library materials  effectively.
