The Site Council functions as the school’s school improvement team. It has been organized to enact policies on all matters for Middletown High School that are not in place through federal, State of Rhode Island or Middletown School Committee Mandates.
The Policies over which the council have jurisdiction include:

The Council consists of 27 members, including 9 students (each class President, the President of the Student Council, and 4 students elected from each grade level by students within that grade level, 9 teachers (each Director and 5 others elected by teachers) and 9 members selected by the Superintendent (the Building Principal, Associate Principal, Assistant Superintendent, 3 community members and 3 parents). Council membership is comprised of this 3-3-3 model of student-faculty-parent/community to give MHS the best possible representation of its three most important constituencies.
