Dressing Down
Reaps Results
It’s amazing what $1 can do! In 1999, the staff at Oliphant started a Dress Down for Charity Fund, collecting $1 from each person who came on Fridays in dress-down clothing. Since that date, they have collected over $1400 which was used to provide Summer School Scholarships for 18 students over the past three years, support needs at the Forest Avenue Group Home, supply Stop & Shop Gift Certificates for needy families, and contribute Christmas gifts for a family at the Women’s Resource Center.
WE HAVE BEEN BUSY!!
In addition to new staff, over 550 new students and families were registered during the summer months. The registration process takes an average of 20 minutes per child. Besides registering new students, the Oliphant staff prepared and sent out records for over 150 elementary students.
