FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT

Dear Colleagues,

The beginning of the 2002-2003 school year holds great promise for the 2,800 students we serve. At every level in the district we are focused on our mission to improve student achievement by supporting teaching and learning in the classroom.

The informal chats with so many of you this summer provided me with great insight as to your needs, concerns and hopes for our district. Additionally, the face-to-face meetings I have had with Department Heads, Grade Leaders and Head Teachers enabled us to share common goals for the future of our district.

I plan to establish monthly meetings at building sites to ensure on-going communication:
09/24-High School @ 2:00
10/23-Gaudet @2:30
11/19-Forest Ave & FA II @ 3:00
01/21-Aquidneck @ 3:00
03/12-Kennedy @ 3:15
04/29-High School @ 2:00
05/20-Gaudet @ 2:30

“Learning Walks” will afford me the opportunity to see you in your professional capacity. Finally, there are great things happening in our schools. We need to celebrate these successes through meaningful methods of recognition.

Let us all come together in a spirit of cooperation and continue to develop the fine reputation we enjoy.

Sincerely,
Rosemarie K. Kraeger
Superintendent
