A Message from the Superintendent
Welcome to Middletown Public Schools!
If you're looking for a website that will give you an insider's in-depth look into Middletown Public Schools, then you've reached the right place.
We are the only K-12 public school system in the state to have all five of its schools classified as “high performing and improving” by the Rhode Island Department of Education. Additionally, our high school and middle school are “Regents Commended Schools.”
This means that the overall test scores improved in English Language Arts and Mathematics for two consecutive years. We are proud of these accomplishments!
This was achieved by implementing a number of programs that help boost our students' performance. Many other schools might be using similar teaching techniques or providing identical types of support services - but it's our overarching strategic game plan that encompasses programs involving academics, athletics, family support issues, alternative learning environments, professional development for teachers, community/business needs, strict budgetary guidelines, that truly sets us apart.
You'll get a better feel for this as you click through our website. Whether you want to learn more about our Certificate of Initial Mastery (CIM), a program offering a certificate of achievement of standards for students who demonstrate that they have met rigorous achievements in a number of subjects, want to e-mail your child's teacher, learn more about the school budgetary process, read about the Parent Teacher Organizations in place at our schools, or find out more about each of the schools in the district, all of this information is available on this site. Chances are if you're looking for school-related information, it's on our website. And if it's not, let us know. We're always looking for feedback that will help us improve and enhance our ability to provide the community and public with timely information about our school system.
Our vision at Middletown Public Schools is to create a learning community that will enable all students to achieve high standards for life in the 21st Century. We have certainly made great strides in this area. Our focus as we move forward will be on continuing to improve our results and ensure that all students attain academic success. By working together, let's continue to demonstrate to everyone that Middletown's students are among the best performing and best prepared in the state of Rhode Island.
Sincerely,
Rosemarie K. Kraeger
Superintendent
