What we know:
It will be located in the current St. John’s facility, in Arctic. It will not be a St. John’s organization in any way. At the end of this school year, NDRS and St. John’s schools both will close;
It will be a Diocesan run administration. That means that each decision is reached using their guidelines and established policy. The interim board does the legwork but items must have the approval of the Diocese before they can be put into practice;
The Diocese has appointed an “interim” principal, with 25 years of Catholic school experience, who is working on bussing and hours and other prepatory tasks until the Search committee finds us a capable leader;
An interim board, made up of parents and pastors from each organization are diligently working to get things up and running;
The next Interim board will meet March 31st at which time we hope to vote on a name, review Board nominations, review a draft budget with potential tuition amount, set an open meeting for parents to go over the information we do have and be updated on the Principal search;
The registration form is in the works and will be out soon. There will be a $100 deposit which will be applied to tuition. Once the tuition amount is set and announced, there will be a two week window in which to withdraw your registration deposit;
We, parents of NDRS and St. John’s, should be receiving a letter soon that covers the details we do have and give the official status/timeline of what’s in process.
If you have any questions or comments, please don’t hesitate to ask. There may be other parents with the same concerns and it may help us in regards to items in the works. Shannon Bieda, bieda@netzero.net, 826-9240.
