Homecoming is about four children whose parents abandon
them, which leaves all the responsibility of thirteen-year-old Dicey, the
oldest child. In desperate search of someone who would take them
in and love them, the Tillermans are obligated to travel across Connecticut
by foot to reach their great aunt in Bridgeport, Connecticut. This
book is an exciting adventure for both girls and boys to read because the
novel throws problems and surprises at the reader whenever you feel as
if the plot is becoming dull. This book was easy to relate to because one
of the main characters, Dicey, is my age and is going through the same
issues that most teenagers deal with, and many more. This novel also makes
me feel very fortunate to have a family that loves and supports me, because
to these poor children, that is the most that they can hope for.
