Journal Entries
From January 19th through the 27th, Mr. Testa, a 7th grade science teacher from East Greenwich, Rhode Island joined the longest running mountain lion study ever! With the help of his anchor teacher, Mrs. Jody Mangiaratti, they engaged students from Cole Junior High on a long distance learning adventure!
For the past 12 years, wildlife ecologist Dr. John Laundre from Idaho State University has been working with Earthwatch teams to gather facts on mountain lion ecology in the Idaho wilderness. Mr. Testa joined his science team along with other volunteers from Canada and England as they tried to answer ecological questions regarding the behavior of this misunderstood predator.
Mr. Testa and the science team were up at dawn tracking mountain lions and capturing them to gather data for Dr. Laundre's study. Join Mr. Testa and track his adventure on line by viewing pictures taken from the field and following his daily journal that was uploaded on this page!
