Language arts is consists of reading, spelling, and writing. These components are integrated into the content areas such as social studies, science, art, music, health, library, and physical education.
Each child will keep a journal which will be used for daily language arts lessons.
The children will be required to read and report on a variety of books on a monthly basis. Each month, students will read a book from a different genre according to the schedule below. Book reports are due on the last Friday of every month. The teacher will provide the students with a format to be used well in advance of the due date.
