Learning  through Library Links

Students and faculty have access to the  library every school day from 8:30-2:30.  The library operates using a flexible schedule model which provides collaborative instruction at point of need. Prior to instruction,  faculty members discuss and plan instructional strategies and delivery model with Mrs. Humphrey, the school media specialist. Information skills are taught using a team teaching approach. 

The Library Media Center has a print collection of 8,000 book titles and 30 periodical subscriptions. The audio-visual collection includes Books on Tapes, CD-ROMs, software and videos.  

The Library Media Center hosts 14 computers with Internet access. Additional on-line resources include World Book Online Multimedia Encyclopedia and access to EBSCO. Multi-media equipment includes an Alpha-Smart Classroom Bundle, digital-video camera, digital cameras, scanner, TV projector, a SMART Board, 2 mobile lap-top labs and 2 multi-media projectors. The media center is a member of RILink and uses Destiny to access the on-line catalog. Students can place holds and view their library accounts from home by using their unique passwords.
