SOCIAL
STUDIES
Our K-6 curriculum
is aligned with the national
Social
Studies Standards and identifies what students should know and be able
to do (target indicators) in this skill area . These target indicators
are performance-based with an emphasis on higher order thinking skills.
An important component is the inclusion of one consistent assessment and
rubric to ensure mastery at every grade level. The vision of this
curriculum is to embed quality teaching, challenging content, and community
involvement to enable all learners to pursue academic excellence, share
