Sept. 10 and 20: Open House-- Parents are invited into the classroom and teachers provide a brief presentation of a typical day in your child's classroom. Many teachers have a sign up sheet for the first report card conferences at this time.

Sept. 23: Reading Recognition- those students who have read over the summer are recognized with a reward.

(Holiday Recess) The E. G.Recreation Dept.provides the option of an all day program or field trips at designated times during the day. In the past, field trips have included a trip to the Pequot Museum, Bowling, a Marine Biology session with live animals, etc.<>

Feb 20- 25 (February Vacation) The E. G. Recreation Dept.provides the same kinds of activities as in the December break.

Mar 13-17: Spring Book FairMar 14: Science Night (rotated with Math Night every other year). This is a night of fun for the kids as they play games and secretly incorporate learning into the process.
March 30: Staff Development Day-No School.

Frenchtown's Summer Reading Program rewards children who continue to read during the summer vacation. A completed form (included in the June Newsletter) must be returned in order for a student to receive a free book and certificate! Awards are announced and distributed in the early fall.
East Greenwich Free Library Reading Program (sign up in late June, awards ceremony for those completing the program in mid August) Call the library for more information 884-9510.
E. G. Summer Concert Series held at Academy Field on Thursdays. Most concerts begin at 6:30, however, watch the Pendulum for times and dates or check with the Recreation Department. (link here) (www.eastgreenwichri.com) and click on the recreations department.
Friday Children's Performances held at the Jr. High or High School Auditorium.
