Introduction: During Reading Week, students at Fogarty Memorial School will be participating in the Read to Feed program. This program is unique in that it's mission is to provide hungry families with a "living loan" of an animal. In this Web Quest you will find more about the Read to Feed Program and the livestock that they provide to families in over 128 countries. Let's begin our Quest!
Task: You and your team will be researching the Read to Feed Program and the livestock they offer to families around the world. Your team will be assigned an animal that can be purchased for a family. You will create a PowerPoint presentation to persuade your classmates that this animal is the BEST choice for a family.
Process: Your team will be assigned an animal. You must look up your animal on the Internet and find out basic information such as size, life expectancy, how it provides food, etc. You must have four facts. Next you must go to the Read to Feed Web Site and find out why this is an animal that the Heifer International provides to a family in need. Your team must have a least three reasons why this is the animal your class should buy. Remember you are persuading your entire class to purchase this animal!
You will then create a slide show which will include four slides:
Slide One: Title of Show; Names of Team MembersSlide Two: Animal you want to purchase; Purchase price
Slide Three: Facts about your animal (at least 4)
Slide Four: Reasons why this is the animal your class could purchase (at least 3)
