Format : Book Talk and Poster
This report has two parts; a written /visual assignment and a oral presentation based on your written project.
WRITTEN/VISUAL ASSIGNMENT On a poster board (24"x18") you are to showcase important events from the person's life that you have just read about. Decide on 4-6 events in this person's life. Try to pick events that would have influenced this person and shaped their future. Have a picture /drawing of this event and describe; what this event is,when this event took place,and why was this event is important . Arrange your pictures with explanations in clockwise fashion. In the middle of your poster presentation will be a written report.
This written report will have three paragraphs. The first paragraph will introduce the reader to your person. Tell about the person's life;when and where they lived, where did they go to school,what major accomplishment did this person achieve,etc. The second paragraph tells in greater detail about the person's accomplishments. Tell the reader why this person was worthy of having a biography written about them. What was it about this person's character that helped them become who they became? In the last paragraph give your opinion about your person. Would you like to have this person as a friend?(Why/why not) Close this paragraph with a thoughtful question that you would like (or have liked)to ask this person.
Oral PresentationBe creative! You are to pretend that you are the person that you have written about. You may use props and/or dress like your person. Present the poster board and share your person's life with your classmates. You are to use note cards while presenting your report to the class.
