Mrs. Aldous' Class
Book Project of the Month

November: Adventure

Due Date: Friday, Nov. 30, 2007

Format: Diorama

These are the steps to making a great diorama. Follow these steps in order, give some thought and effort to your project, and you'll do a great job.
1. Read your book and select an interesting event from this story.

2. Remember the event should include the main character from the story.

3. Draw a diagram of this event on manilla paper. Map it out and create your plan!

4. Once you have your diorama planned out start collecting materials you'll need for your finished product.

Materials should include: shoe box (covered), colored paper,crayons/markers, glue, play dough/clay, etc.

5. Now create your diorama---use your plan and materials and be CREATIVE!!!!!

6. Attached to the box should be a large index card with the following information included:

*Title of the story (underlined)

*Author of the story

*A paragraph explaining the scene inside of the diorama (see step 7 for details on paragraph).

7. Your paragraph should include who the character(s) are and their role in the story. Describe in detail what is happening in the scene. Finally state why you chose this event and why was this event important within the story ( for example; Was it the turning point? Did it give a better feel for the character?)
