Book Project of the Month
Genre: Realistic Fiction
Date Due: April 24, 2008
Format: Mobile
For your mobile you will need a wire clothes hanger, string, construction paper, fabric, and/or cardboard. After reading your book think about shapes that have something to do with the story you have read. Cut out a minimum of 4 shapes.
On shape one, give the book's title and author's name. Make sure the information is neat and large enough to read. You may further design or decorate the shape as long as it does not interfere with the readability of the shape.
On the second shape, name and describe the main character(s). Remember, a description is not just a physical description. Talk about the character's personality also. Try to think of a shape that will have something specific in common with the character.
On the third shape, describe a major event in the plot of the story. Again, try to relate the shape to the information. All shapes can be decorated further, as long as, the shape remains easy to read.
Your fourth shape should contain your critique. Did you enjoy the book? Would others enjoy it also? Evaluate in detail. Tell about your favorite part(s) and perhaps what you didn't like.
** You may include more than four shapes. You might want to include other events from the story. However, don't give away the ending.
Tie your shapes to the hanger. Try to balance the weight so it will hang evenly. Use different length strings so all the shapes will not be crowded together. You may also decorate the hanger.
REMEMBER, AS ALWAYS, CARE, NEATNESS, AND ATTENTION TO DETAIL WILL INFLUENCE YOUR GRADE.
