Homework
Policy
Homework will be given
nightly from Monday through Thursday. The children should be reading
for 20 minutes each night and entering read books into their Book
Log.
Spelling lists will be
given out weekly and will be available on this site. A list of the
Word Wall Words are in the packet passed out at Open House and should
be reviewed frequently, since they will be assessed on these words at
the end of the year. At times, a Making Words activity will be passed
out for completion at home.
Children will have one to
two math practice sheets each night. Nightly drill of 10-15 minutes
of basic facts is a great idea, so they will be able to complete
daily work without this slowing them down.
A weekly language arts
paper will be sent home each Monday to be completed and passed in on
Friday.
Homework booklets are
completed daily and these should be signed nightly. This and
completion of all homework is graded and counted as an effort grade,
as well.
