· We now have enough money for phase one, step one, of the Playground Project; over $3500 raised so far! The replacement of all hardware, chains and seats on our existing 24 swings! · Also in the works is the replacement of all of the classroom signs and a facelift for the · Faculty room; including paint, microwave carts and wall boards. · We bought a Bose PA system for assemblies, a microphone, stand and a karaoke machine for fun, family nights and assemblies! · We bought a new double sink and fixtures for our public restroom. · We paid for four assemblies this year, sent the fifth grade to Trinity, sponsored buses for field trips, the Biomes show, Bwana Iguana reptile show, bought locked trunks for PTO supplies and a filing cabinet for our Treasurer’s records to be kept at school. · We filed taxes for 2001-2006, and we will be implementing new financial procedures for years to come so we can operate PTO as the viable entity it is. · We bought fire proof frames to display our children’s art. · We bought a popcorn machine for healthier fundraising. · We supported health week, cruise night, and arts night. · Our book fairs earned over $2200 cash and over $900 in bonus books for our Library and classrooms. · We coordinated the RIF program which gives free books directly to our children. · We bought a bookshelf for the library, memory sticks for the school’s cameras, the sign on the Barbara Brown Memorial Gazebo and rugs for some classrooms. · We bought CD players for the classrooms and a new hand truck for the kitchen. · We gave $1700 from the Santa raffle to the teachers’ fund for class activities. · We supplemented the After School Programs. · We gave our School store, Bingo, and yearbook a much needed facelift and are now seeing the benefits: an affordable Yearbook representing ALL of our kids! · We sponsor the Spring Dance, Mother/Son and Teacher Appreciation Week. · We made a ‘first ever’ Holiday CD representing ALL of our students and faculty. · We collected over$1300 for our annual CURE fundraiser. |
