Residential/resort community on Rhode Island’s southern coast is seeking an experienced student-centered instructional leader for a national exemplary school of 550 pupils in grades
9-12. Narragansett High School has been a member of the Coalition of Essential Schools since 1990. Join two Associate Principals and a Leadership Team in facilitating a collaborative school culture.
Requirements: RI certified/certifiable, 5 years teaching experience, and a minimum of 3 years experience as an assistant principal/principal (experience as principal preferred).
Qualifications:
· Effective interpersonal and communications skills.
· Sensitivity to needs of students, parents, and staff (RT/Quality School experience desired).
· Decisive, firm, consistent leadership.
· Experience in curriculum and staff development, teacher performance assessment, and program evaluation.
· Vision for the future of secondary education.
· Experience in school reform processes (Coalition of Essential Schools experience preferred).
· Commitment to school-based leadership and budgeting.
