activity you will work with a partner to write a summary of a chapter from
the book, The Chalkbox Kid. You will write a summary and illustrate
your summary with KidPix software. We'll publish your summary on
our class webpage, too.
The Task

Choose a chapter to work on with your partner.

Re-read the chapter together.

The Process: Exploring the Web, Creating a Product

Choose the chapter to summarize.

Re-read the chapter with your partner.

Decide on the important events in the
chapter.

Write a sloppy copy of your summary.
Remember to use your own words.

Conference with Mrs. B. about your
summary and make any changes.

Publish your final copy using ClarisWorks
or an AlphaSmart.

Illustrate your summary using KidPix.
