Letter of the Week

    The letter of the week program was implemented to take into account the various learners in the class.  Children come from diverse backgrounds where some have acquired immense amounts of letter and sound awareness and others who have not been exposed to this.  Some of the program goals are to provide:

1. Sequencing and memory development.

2. Development of listening and speaking skills.

3. Awareness of similarities and differences of letter formation.

4. Expressions through creative materials such as glue, paint and glitter.

5. Increase awareness of names and sounds of letters.

6. Development of fine and gross motor skills.

7. Parent involvement.
