LIGHT REACTION

• The sun is a source of energy
• The energy is absorbed by Chlorophyll
• Chlorophyll a is an energy carrier
• It becomes energized Chlorophyll
• It splits the H₂O and releases O₂
• The 2H is trapped by NADP (H acceptor) Which forms NADPH₂; used for dark reaction
• The other part of the Chlorophyl adds a P to ADP (energy carrier)
• Forming ATP
• Stored energy for use in the dark reaction
• Photosynthesis formula: H₂O + CO₂ à C₆H₁₂O₆ + O₂ + H₂O
