Each Spring registration for Kindergarten is held. All children who will be five years old by the end of that calendar year are eligible for Kindergarten. A child who will be six years old by the end of that calendar year is eligible for grade one or pre-one.

Throughout the school year, registrations are taken at the schools. During the summer months, registrations are accepted at the School Administration Building for grades K-4, at Portsmouth High School for grades 9-12, and at Portsmouth Middle School for grades 5-8. Should your child have an Individualized Education Plan (IEP), please present that to the school at the time of registration. The school will notify the Regional Special Education Office for follow-up concerning the childs placement.
