MELVILLE SCHOOL DISCIPLINARY RULES

Melville School Rules help to establish clear guidelines for expected behavior.  Many of the rules stated on the following pages are simply common courtesy; others are health and safety issues.  Either way they are intended to support a smooth, orderly environment where children learn to be responsible, are safe, and learning is foremost.  Children are treated with respect and caring, and we hope to encourage them to do the same with others.

Parents should expect to be informed of even minor infractions.  Short notes requiring a parent signature are sent home or, in more complicated concerns, telephone calls will be initiated.  It is our request that you occasionally remind your child of these guidelines especially if they find a particular rule difficult to follow.  We are always available if you need to speak with us about your child.  Don't hesitate to call your child's teacher or Dr. Olson at 683-1650.
