Mr. Bruce Lenore, Smithfield High School Art Teacher, has been fortunate enough to receive the honor of a Fulbright Fellowship to study Art and Culture in Japan.  Several classes in Smithfield including SHS, Gallagher Middle School, and Anna McCabe Elementary will be following the trip and applying the experience through curriculum integration.  Students will learn about Japan "virtually" through his experiences.

Gallagher Middle School News:  Mrs. Pleau's 7th grade classes have been exploring the human and physical characteristics of Japan. Of special interest have been the natural disasters that often plague this region of the world. We have used Mr. Lenore's web site pictures and text, other online resources, library
books, and of course our geography books.  Currently we are researching the
life and influence of Buddha.
