Snow Leopard
The snow leopard lives in the cold regions of central Asia.  In the summer the snow leopard lives in the Tibian Highlands. Snow leopards have a broad home range covering about 100 square miles. About 3,000 to 7,000 snow leopards are left in the wild,  and about 370 live in captivity. Snow Leopards live up to 15 years in captivity.

Snow leopards are very well known for there beautiful fur. Snow leopards have soft gray thick coats. They are covered with leopard like spots. There coat is very insulating. The fur is very valuable, that is why they are endangered. There are many organizations to save these endangered species. One of the organizations is the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora.

The snow leopard eats mountain goats, wild sheep, wild boars, gazelles, hares, markhor, bobak, tahr, marmots, mice and deer. There diet is very interesting.

Female snow leopards give birth in the spring, ussally to to two or more cubs

Unlike other big cats the snow leopared can not roar. Snow leopards can purr like a domestic cat.
