III. L. Injuries on the Job
Accidents to staff, professional and non-professional, while indeed unfortunate do occur from time to time which may result in Workers’ Compensation claims. All accidents to staff are to be reported to the Central Administration Office within twenty-four (24) hours of the accident in the form of an accident report.
Workers’ Compensation claims result in not more than three (3) days sick leave being credited to the individual employees. Since Unemployment Compensation picks up the salary payments the West Warwick School Committee shall only be paying for those first three (3) days, at which time salary payments shall cease and unemployment compensation shall take over.
Therefore, it is imperative that information be submitted to the Central Administration Office within the period set forth above.
