Mission Statement
of
West Warwick High School
"Everyone has his own specific vocation or mission in life;
everyone must carry out a concrete assignment that demands fulfillment.
Therein he cannot be replaced, nor can his life be repeated. Thus, everyone's
task is as unique as his specific opportunity to implement it."
---Victor E. Frankl
In accordance with the philosophy and objectives, the mission of West Warwick
High School administration, teachers and staff is to create an educational
setting in each classroom which serves as a catalyst in facilitating the
developmental learning process of each individual student. Within an ever-changing
society, the teachers and staff will develop, implement, and reflect upon
curricula goals and objectives. Teachers and staff will utilize a variety
of teaching strategies, meet the varied needs and learning styles of the
individual student, promote active student involvement, and constantly challenge
the student to utilize critical and creative thinking skills. While constantly
seeking to improve their own knowledge and teaching skills, administrators
and teachers will serve as roll models for students as they strive to improve
their professional performance and the performance of students in a quest
to mutually pursue life-long individual learning. To this end, the professional
staff and students will strive to:
1. Enkindle the desire to accept more responsibility for their own learning;
2. Formulate attainable and worthwhile goals;
3. Foster self-esteem, self-affirmation, and conviction;
4. Develop discriminating intellectual, artistic, and cultural views;
5. Be all that they can be.
