Welcome to the Hugh and Buffett Web Quest!  You are no longer a sixth grade student at Deering Middle School.  You are taking on the role of a college graduate who has just obtained a degree in marine studies.  You have a passion for helping animals that are endangered, and you have just become aware of an opening at Mote Marine Laboratories in Sarasota, Florida.  If you get the position you will have an opportunity to work with and study their two manatees who were born in captivity.  Their names are Hugh and Buffett and those are their smiling and whiskered faces in the top left hand corner of this page.

    This web quest is broken down into three distinct sections to make getting your job that much easier.  Step one will involve going to the Mote Marine manatee page to obtain some background information on where you will be working.  Step two is an opportunity for you to create a pamphlet that visitors at the manatee exhibit can learn from and take home as a keepsake of their experience.  The final step involves preparing yourself for the actual interview.  There are some sample questions for you to practice with.  The questionnaire and pamphlet from the previous steps will be brought to the interview as part of your portfolio of evidence that you are qualified for this position.  Best of luck!  I wish there was a position for all of you!
