Thanks to everyone that helped make the
Halloween Walk-a-Thon
a huge success!!
All you Ashton
Students deserve a big round of applause for all the walking you did, sometimes
even running! Thanks to your
teachers for joining in and giving up some of their day!
A big thanks to Sarah DiGiovanni and the volunteers who helped plan the
day and made it run smoothly. It was a lot of fun and you earned money to help
support fun activities, like field trips, that make Ashton such a great school!
-
The
fourth grade class is looking for a
creative
adult to step up and be in charge of the fourth grade play.
Without your help the will be
no fourth grade play this year!
-
Every
Friday is school colors day- tan pants and navy blue shirts.
Remember to wear them on Fridays and show your school spirit.
Maybe the school mascot will
visit your classroom for the week!
-
The annual
Thanksgiving Food Drive will be
running form November 1st-16th.
You will be informed of what your child’s class should bring in.
It is a wonderful way to reach out and help members of your community.
Every bit counts and is appreciated.
Monetary donations can also be made to help purchase more items for the
food baskets; just make your checks payable to Ashton PTO and mark your envelope
to Thanksgiving Food Drive.

If there
is any publicity from any school event (pictures or write ups) to submit to the
Valley Breeze or Neighbors then you need the approval of
Mrs. Karbonik first.
All you have to do is email Mrs. Karbonik what you want to publish and
she will let you know if it is okay.
Her email is nidia.karbonik@cumberlandschools.org

NECAP testing has
been completed. Great job to all
the students in grades 3 through 5 who took the tests.
Thanks to grades Kindergarten though 2 for being so polite and quiet
while the older grades were testing. Thanks to any parents that brought in
healthy snacks for the kids to have during testing weeks.
Ashton has been a “Maintaining
High Performance” school for 4
years!! That is a huge compliment to the dedication of our principle and
teachers!
-

October was Fire
Prevention Month. Thanks to the
Ashton firefighters for the great Fire Prevention Assembly.
Thanks also to the Durham Bus company for going over bus safety and how
to evacuate if there is an emergency at school.
We always want our kids to be safe and educated about what to do in case
of emergencies.
