Dear Parents,
Over the past three years you have become much more than a group of people who have children enrolled in Community School. Your support, encouragement and interest in our school programs has made it extremely rewarding to work here.
As many of you may have heard, I have accepted the position of principal at the Lincoln Central School. The decision to apply for the principalship was not an easy one to make because of the things that will always make Community School so special to me (great students, wonderful supportive parents and a staff that is committed to providing the children with a nurturing quality education.)
The Lincoln Central School has approximately 400 fewer students than Community which will afford me an increased opportunity to interact with pupils. The school also enjoys the same type of supportive parent involvement that characterizes our school.
As I indicated to Dr. Morelle when I informed her of my decision to leave, I am committed to working diligently to insure that there will be a smooth leadership transition at the school. Not only will I use my remaining time at Community to leave matters as organized as possible, I will also continue to make myself available to my successor throughout the coming year should assistance be needed.
I leave Community School with the belief that working together we have made advances in student learning and an improved school climate. The school is a great place to work in and the collaborative support that I have enjoyed with the parents and staff has made this a very difficult decision.
In closing, please know that in future years I will reflect fondly upon my association with such a fine group of children and parents. Working with you on behalf of the children has been truly rewarding. I wish you and your families the very best in the future and leave with the confidence that you will provide my successor with the same strong support that you have given me.
Sincerely,
William R. “Bill” Skitt

Regarding Fifth Graders attending North Cumberland Middle School in the Fall
Entering Middle School is an exciting time for students and their parents. As your child prepares to make this transition, I would like to make you aware of the transition activities designed to make this time rewarding and informative. Read more.
An information sheet that I created and 2008-2009 schedule info will go home with your child in their Dolphin Folder.
If you were not able to attend the recent Orientation Night, any information given out at the meeting will be posted on the North Cumberland Middle School website. Also, there will be a more detailed orientation for both parents and students before the 2008-2009 school year officially begins in August.
