Group Purchasing The Southern Rhode Island Collaborative coordinates a group purchasing program in which nine school districts participate: Coventry, East Greenwich, Exeter/West Greenwich, Jamestown, Johnston, Lincoln, South Kingstown, Chariho, Narragansett and West Warwick. The advantages to participation is reduced costs by increasing the purchasing power of smaller districts as part of a larger entity through the Collaborative; and, the Collaborative provides all clerical services, bid processes, price comparison spread sheets and trouble shooting throughout the life of the contract. The districts' representatives decide which vendors best serve their needs. Currently group purchasing contracts for athletic, custodial and clinical/nursing supplies are in affect through June, 2007. Office supplies, copier paper and art/school supplies contracts are through June, 2008. It is never too late to join. Any District is gladly welcomed.
